The Borg & Beck BFA2221 Air Filter is designed for owners of specific Citroen and Peugeot vehicles who want to maintain optimal engine health through superior air filtration. Its primary benefit is the integrated pre-filter, which catches larger debris before it reaches the main filter media, extending the life of your engine and improving fuel efficiency. A key caveat for buyers is that this is a precise replacement part; you must verify your vehicle's specific model and year against the manufacturer's compatibility list to ensure an exact fit.
| Model Part Number | BFA2221 |

It is generally recommended to replace the filter every 10,000 to 15,000 miles, or more frequently if you drive in high-dust environments.
It is not recommended. Cleaning a paper-based filter with compressed air can damage the media, potentially allowing harmful particles to enter the engine.
Borg & Beck cross-references many parts, but if your specific number is not listed, use a VIN-based lookup tool to confirm compatibility.
No, the pre-filter is integrated. It is designed to be replaced as a single unit along with the main filter.
In many regions, using a high-quality aftermarket part like a Borg & Beck filter does not void your warranty, provided it meets or exceeds OEM specifications.
Ensure the air filter housing is fully closed and the clips are locked, as an unsealed housing can cause incorrect airflow readings.
Verify that no debris remains in the corners of the housing. Confirm the filter orientation matches the flow direction indicated on the airbox.
To install, open your vehicle's air filter housing, remove the old filter, and ensure the interior of the box is free of debris using a vacuum or clean rag. Insert the BFA2221 ensuring the gasket is seated evenly along the perimeter of the airbox. The BFA2221 is compatible with OEM numbers 1444QP, 1444QQ, 1444RN, 1444RP, and 1444TE. Always verify your specific VIN or vehicle model year compatibility before proceeding. Do not attempt to wash or reuse this paper-based filter; once it becomes visibly darkened or clogged, it should be replaced with a new unit.
