Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Installation typically involves cutting the battens to size using standard woodworking saws and securing them to a frame using exterior-grade screws. Ensure appropriate fixings are used to prevent premature corrosion. For screening or fencing, plan your layout and spacing before attaching. For cladding, start from the bottom and work upwards, ensuring each batten is level.
Compatibility: This batten is designed for outdoor use and is compatible with most standard timber framing and fencing systems. It can be combined with other treated timbers or metal fence posts. It is suitable for use in direct ground contact if treated for that purpose, though its primary design is for above-ground structures.
Care: While the pressure treatment provides protection against rot, the timber's appearance may change over time due to UV exposure. To maintain its original look, consider applying a suitable exterior wood stain or sealant. Regular cleaning with water and a mild detergent can remove surface dirt. Inspect fixings periodically to ensure they remain secure.
