Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use
Upon receiving your Brodin Seam Trainers, it's recommended to wear them for short periods initially. This allows the premium leather to gradually conform to the unique shape of your feet, optimizing comfort and fit. This `break-in period` is typical for quality leather footwear.
Compatibility
These trainers are highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of attire:
- Casual: Jeans, shorts, chinos, t-shirts, polo shirts, casual button-downs.
- Smart-Casual: Darker wash jeans or chinos, tailored trousers, sport coats, blazers, sweaters.
Their classic brown leather finish makes them an adaptable choice for both light and dark color palettes in your wardrobe.
Care & Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and pristine appearance of your Brodin Seam Trainers, consistent care is essential:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe off dirt and dust with a soft, damp cloth after each wear. For more stubborn marks, use a specialized leather cleaner according to its instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Conditioning: Regularly apply a good quality leather conditioner. This keeps the leather supple, prevents drying and cracking, and maintains its natural luster. Aim for conditioning every 1-2 months, or more frequently if worn in dry conditions.
- Protection: Consider applying a water and stain protector specifically designed for leather. While not making them fully waterproof, it will provide an extra barrier against moisture and spills.
- Storage: When not in use, store your trainers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Drying: If your shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and let them air dry naturally at room temperature. Never use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdry, as this can damage the leather.
