This guide is for crafters and DIY enthusiasts looking to add a custom touch to their garments and accessories. The key benefit is the ability to create unique, fabric-covered buttons without sewing or special tools. A potential caveat is that the 15mm size may not be suitable for all projects. Hemline Metal Self Cover Buttons allow you to easily personalize items by covering them with your chosen fabric, offering a snap-on back plate for a secure, tool-free attachment. Each pack contains 6 buttons.

No, these buttons are designed to be used without any special tools or sewing. They feature a simple snap-on back plate.
You will need to cut a circle of fabric approximately twice the diameter of the button. For the 15mm buttons, a fabric circle of about 30mm would be a good starting point.
Most woven fabrics work well. Lightweight to medium-weight fabrics are ideal. Very thick, stiff, or extremely stretchy fabrics may be more challenging to cover neatly.
Each pack contains 6 Hemline Metal Self Cover Buttons.
The buttons themselves are metal, but the fabric covering's washability depends on the fabric used. It is recommended to gently hand wash any item adorned with these buttons.
These are 15mm in diameter.
Ensure fabric is not too thick and is evenly distributed. Try pressing on a harder surface, or ensure you are applying even pressure to all sides of the button.
Cut the fabric circle slightly smaller or ensure it is cut on the bias if it's a particularly stiff fabric. Smooth the fabric carefully before snapping the back plate on.
Re-apply pressure to the snap-on back plate. If it remains loose, the fabric may be too thick or the fit may not be secure. Consider re-covering with a different fabric or a thinner material.
