The SecureFix Direct Dee Shackle (6mm) is designed for professionals and DIY enthusiasts requiring a reliable, budget-friendly connection point for mooring, towing, and industrial tethering. These galvanised shackles provide excellent strength for various mechanical loads, though they are best suited for general-purpose applications rather than harsh, high-corrosion marine environments where stainless steel is required.

No, these are intended for general-purpose, non-critical, or static applications and are not rated for overhead lifting.
While the galvanised finish offers some protection, they will eventually corrode in saltwater. Stainless steel is recommended for permanent marine installations.
The shackle is sized for 6mm applications, corresponding to the diameter of the material used to form the shackle body.
This product comes in a pack containing 5 individual shackles.
The countersunk design is intended to minimize snagging. If it becomes tight, use a tool to provide leverage, but do not overtighten beyond finger-tight plus a quarter turn with pliers.
Check the threads for dirt or metal burrs; apply a small amount of lubricant to the thread if resistance persists.
Surface oxidation is common with galvanised steel. Use a wire brush to remove the rust and apply a galvanising spray or protective oil.
To install, simply unscrew the pin, pass the shackle body through your anchor point or loop, and re-insert the pin, tightening it firmly with a pair of pliers or a wrench to ensure it does not vibrate loose. These shackles are compatible with standard 6mm gauge chains and ropes. To extend the lifespan of the galvanised coating, avoid using these shackles in highly acidic environments or salt-spray zones without additional protective grease or maintenance. Always inspect the threads before each use to ensure the pin rotates smoothly and is free of debris or grit.
