Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Install Battery: Open the battery compartment, insert the included 9V battery, and secure the cover.
- Connect Test Probes: Insert the black test probe into the 'COM' jack and the red test probe into the appropriate jack (VΩmA for voltage, resistance, and low current; 10A for high current).
- Select Function and Range: Turn the dial to the desired measurement function (e.g., V~ for AC Voltage, V- for DC Voltage, Ω for Resistance, A- for DC Current) and then select the appropriate range. For example, if measuring a standard 120V AC outlet, select the 200V AC range.
Compatibility:
This multimeter is designed for general electrical measurements on standard household, automotive, and low-voltage electronic circuits. It is compatible with most common electrical components and systems within its specified measurement ranges.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the multimeter in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and corrosive materials. Use the protective rubber casing and store probes safely.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V battery when the low battery indicator appears to ensure accurate readings.
- Probe Maintenance: Inspect test leads regularly for any damage. Replace damaged leads immediately.
