Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Ensure the child is comfortable and able to follow instructions.
- Procedure: Pinch one nostril closed and place the Otovent nozzle against the other nostril.
- Inflation: Inflate the balloon through the open nostril.
- Swallowing: Once fully extended, allow the positive pressure of the balloon to re-enter the nose and swallow.
- Frequency: The device should be used as directed by a healthcare professional.
Compatibility: Otovent is designed for use by individuals experiencing symptoms of otitis media with effusion (glue ear). It's generally safe for children but always consult with a healthcare professional before use. There are no known compatibility issues with other medications or treatments, but medical guidance is still advised.
Care: Clean the Otovent device after each use with a damp cloth. Make sure the device is completely dry before storing it. Replace the balloon if it shows signs of wear and tear or loses elasticity.
