Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility: These cleats are exclusively designed for Campagnolo Pro Fit pedals. Ensure your existing pedal system is a Campagnolo Pro Fit model before purchasing. These cleats are available in two options: self-aligning (floating) or fixed. This guide specifically addresses the FLOATING (self-aligning) version.
Setup Instructions:
- Remove Old Cleats: Carefully detach the old cleats from your cycling shoes. Note the position of the original cleats.
- Clean Shoe Sole: Ensure the area on your shoe where the cleats will be attached is clean and dry.
- Attach New Cleats: Position the new cleat plates onto your shoe. Use the included spare fixing screws and washers. *Note: The main cleat fixing bolts are not included.*
- Apply Friction Pads: Place the adhesive friction pads on the cleat plates as directed.
- Adjust Position: Mount your shoes onto the pedals. Adjust the cleat position for optimal alignment and comfortable engagement/disengagement. It is recommended to have cleats installed by a professional bike mechanic for the first time to ensure correct positioning for power and safety.
Care Instructions:
- Regularly check cleat screws for tightness.
- Clean cleats and pedal interfaces periodically to remove dirt and debris that could affect engagement.
- Inspect cleats for wear and replace them when significant wear is visible or engagement becomes difficult. Worn cleats can lead to premature wear on your pedals.
