Polypipe Soil 3 Way Short Boss Pipe - 110mm - Black - SE60B

A 3-way boss pipe is used to create a junction, allowing a pipe to branch off in two directions from a main run, effectively connecting multiple waste sources to a single drainage line.

While it is designed for the Polypipe PolySoil® system, it may be compatible with other 110mm pipes and fittings adhering to British Standards for push-fit and solvent weld systems. Always check specifications for certainty.

Push-fit connections use a rubber seal for a watertight joint that can be easily assembled and disassembled. Solvent weld uses a chemical cement to permanently fuse the pipe and fitting together, creating a very strong, long-lasting bond.

The PVC-U material is suitable for drainage applications. However, for underground installations, ensure compliance with local building regulations and consider protection against ground movement or impact.

Ensure the pipe end is cut square and free from burrs. Lightly chamfer the outside edge of the pipe. Clean the pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket with a suitable cleaner/primer before applying solvent cement.

The 'short boss' refers to the relatively short length of the branch outlets from the main fitting body, which can help in situations where space is limited or a more compact arrangement is desired.

Ensure the pipe end is clean, free from burrs, and chamfered slightly. Lubricant can be used sparingly if needed. Check for obstructions inside the fitting.

For push-fit, ensure the pipe is fully inserted and the seal is intact. For solvent weld, the joint may not have bonded properly; re-cut and re-weld if necessary after ensuring correct surface preparation and cement application.

Verify that both the pipe and fitting are the correct size (110mm) and compatible types (push-fit or solvent weld). Ensure no debris is present within the connection areas.
