Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Choose Location: Select a discreet, sturdy, and easily accessible wall surface near your entry point. Ensure the surface can securely hold the key safe.
- Mark Drilling Points: Open the key safe and use the pre-drilled holes on the back as a template to mark the screw positions on your wall. Ensure it's level.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Using an appropriate drill bit for your wall type (e.g., masonry for brick, smaller bit for wood), drill pilot holes at the marked positions.
- Mount the Safe: Align the key safe with the drilled holes and secure it using appropriate screws and wall anchors (not included, typically recommended for secure installation). Ensure it is firmly attached and cannot be easily pulled off.
- Set Combination: Before closing, set your personal 4-digit combination. Refer to the specific instructions provided with your key safe for how to reset the code (this typically involves an internal lever or button).
Compatibility
This key safe is designed to store standard house keys, car keys (depending on size), and most common access cards. Its internal dimensions are generous for multiple items. It is compatible with outdoor environments due to its weather-resistant construction.
Care
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Mechanism Maintenance: If the push-button mechanism or combination dials become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts. Avoid oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust.
- Combination Security: Regularly change your combination, especially if you've shared it widely. Always memorize your code and avoid writing it down in obvious places.
