Setup:
- Cleaning: Before first use, wash the jars, lids, and seals with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Inspection: Check the glass for any cracks or chips. Inspect the rubber seals for any damage.
- Preparation: Sterilize the jars and lids before preserving food to eliminate any bacteria.
Compatibility:
Kilner jars are compatible with a wide range of food preservation methods, excluding pressure canning. These jars are suitable for water bath canning, pickling, and dry storage.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wash the jars and lids by hand or in a dishwasher. Avoid harsh abrasives that could scratch the glass.
- Seals: The orange rubber seals can be removed for thorough cleaning. Inspect the seals regularly and replace them if they show signs of wear or damage.
- Storage: Store the jars in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperature changes.
