FAQs
Can I use these pellets with a Method feeder?
Yes, 6mm pellets are an excellent size for adding to Method feeders when dampened slightly to create a sticky consistency.
Are these pellets suitable for river fishing?
Absolutely. They are highly effective for barbel, as the scent profile travels well in flowing water.
Do I need to soak these pellets before use?
You don't have to, but soaking them in a matching liquid attractant can significantly boost their pulling power in colder water.
How many pellets come in a bag?
Each bag contains 900g of premium quality pellets.
Are these PVA friendly?
Yes, they are perfectly safe for use with all standard PVA products as long as they are kept dry.
Can I mix these with other pellet sizes?
Mixing with 4mm or 8mm sizes is a great way to create a varied breakdown rate on the bottom, which keeps fish foraging for longer.
Troubleshooting
Pellets softening too quickly in the bag
Ensure the bag is kept in a dry container or original sealed packaging to prevent humidity from affecting the texture.
PVA bag melting before hitting the bottom
Verify that your pellets are bone-dry; any residual moisture from liquids must be fully absorbed before adding to a PVA setup.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Matches the proven flavor profile of the wider Source range
- Excellent for creating high-attraction spod mixes
- PVA friendly for pinpoint bait presentation
- Consistent sinking rate and breakdown profile
- Ideal for both river and commercial lake scenarios
Cons
- Not suitable for long-term submersion without periodic replenishment
- Requires dry storage to avoid clumping
- Specific to the Source flavor profile which may not suit all venues
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best results, store the pellets in a cool, dry place and keep the bag sealed between sessions to prevent moisture absorption. When using with PVA, ensure the pellets are completely dry; damp pellets will cause PVA bags and mesh to dissolve prematurely.
These pellets are highly compatible with The Source liquid attractants, which can be applied to enhance their scent profile further. For best results, allow the pellets to soak for 15-20 minutes after applying liquids to ensure full absorption before casting.
