Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Mounting: Align the lens mount with your camera's mount and twist to secure it. Ensure it clicks into place.
- Focusing: Set your camera to manual focus mode. Adjust the focus ring on the lens to achieve sharp focus on your subject. The closest focusing distance is 1.2 meters.
- Aperture Control: Adjust the aperture ring on the lens from f/1.8 to f/16 as needed for exposure and depth of field.
- Post-Production: Remember to de-squeeze your footage in your editing software to achieve the correct aspect ratio (typically 2.4:1) and image shape.
Compatibility:
This lens is designed for cameras with an APS-C image sensor and features an E-mount, making it compatible with various Sony Alpha camera models (e.g., Sony a6000 series, Sony A7C).
Care:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to clean the lens elements. For stubborn smudges, a lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optics can be used sparingly on the cloth, never directly on the lens.
- Storage: Store the lens in its protective bag when not in use. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, humidity, or dust.
- Handling: Always attach and detach the lens carefully by gripping the base of the lens, not the front element.
- Front Element: Be mindful of the front element, as it can be more exposed due to the anamorphic design. Use of a protective filter is not recommended as it can interfere with the optical characteristics.
