Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the ATEK 3m Cat8 cable is straightforward: plug the RJ45 connector into the device's Ethernet port until it clicks. To ensure maximum longevity and performance:
- Avoid Sharp Bends: While the cable is flat, avoid folding or creasing the ribbon sharply, as this can damage the internal shielding.
- Compatibility: This cable is backward compatible with older standards (Cat6/Cat6a), though it performs best when connected to Cat8-rated hardware.
- Cable Management: Use flat-surface adhesive clips to secure the cable along baseboards to prevent tripping or accidental snags.
- Cleaning: If the cable accumulates dust, wipe it down with a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners.
