Product Information

Full details

The Timloc Rafter Roll is an essential ventilation solution for roofing contractors and DIY renovators looking to prevent condensation and moisture buildup within roof spaces. Designed for both new builds and refurbishment projects, this 800mm wide UPVC roll ensures a clear, consistent ventilation path between insulation and roofing felt. While it is highly effective at meeting strict building regulations, users should ensure their roof rafter spacing is compatible with the 800mm width before procurement to avoid unnecessary trimming or overlapping.

Is this product suitable for refurbishment projects?

Yes, it is designed for both new builds and refurbishment applications.

Does this product meet building regulations?

Yes, it complies with relevant British Standards and satisfies NHBC requirements.

What material is used to manufacture the Rafter Roll?

Troubleshooting

Material is too wide for the rafter gap

Use heavy-duty shears or a sharp utility knife to trim the width to fit the rafter centers precisely.

Roll does not stay flat against the rafters

Increase the frequency of stapling along the edges to ensure a tighter, more secure fit.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Prevents structural damage caused by condensation buildup
Highly durable and rot-resistant UPVC construction
Meets rigorous NHBC and building regulation standards
Simple to cut and install for various rafter configurations

Cons

Fixed 800mm width may require adjustments for non-standard rafter centers
Requires careful handling during installation to avoid cracking the rigid plastic
Not suitable for use as a primary waterproofing membrane

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation should be performed while the roof felt is accessible, typically before tiling or slate installation. Unroll the product along the length of the rafters, ensuring it is positioned to maintain a clear gap. Use standard heavy-duty staples or nails to secure the edges to the rafters. Because the product is made of vacuum-formed UPVC, it is extremely low maintenance and does not require periodic cleaning or treatment. To ensure long-term performance, avoid puncturing the material during the installation of secondary roofing components.
