Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
These carbon brushes are specifically designed for the following Makita models:
- DTD152RMJ Impact Driver
- DTD152Z
- DTD152
They are suitable for use with Makita's 18v LXT battery systems. Always confirm your tool's model number before purchasing.
Setup (Replacement):
- Safety First: Ensure the impact driver is disconnected from the power source (battery removed).
- Access Brushes: Locate the brush holders on the motor housing. This may involve removing a cover.
- Remove Old Brushes: Carefully extract the old carbon brushes. Note their orientation.
- Install New Brushes: Insert the OKODOKO CB440 carbon brushes, ensuring they are seated correctly and oriented as the old ones were.
- Reassemble: Replace any covers or components removed.
- Test: Reinsert the battery and test the tool briefly.
Care:
Carbon brushes are wear items and cannot be 'cared' for in the traditional sense. Their lifespan is determined by usage. Regular inspection during maintenance is recommended. If you notice excessive wear, replace them promptly.
- Avoid exposing the motor area to excessive dust or moisture, which can accelerate wear.
- When replacing, ensure the commutator on the motor is clean.
