FAQs

Does this drive work with Android devices?

Yes, the drive is compatible with Android devices that support USB-C external storage, though MagSafe features may require an adhesive ring.

Can I edit video directly from the drive?

Yes, the 1000 MB/s transfer speeds are fast enough to edit 4K video files directly from the SSD without transferring to your computer.

Is the USB-C cable included?

Yes, the package includes a USB-C to USB-C cable for immediate use.

How do I clean the magnetic ring if it gets dirty?

Use a damp, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the surface. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could degrade the adhesive.

What happens if I drop the drive from higher than 3 meters?

The 3-meter rating is the limit of the manufacturer's testing; drops from higher may result in permanent data loss or physical damage.

Troubleshooting

Drive not recognized by smartphone

Ensure the USB-C cable is fully seated and that your smartphone supports external storage via USB-C.

Recording drops frames or stops

Verify that you are using a high-quality USB-C cable capable of at least 10Gbps data transfer speeds.

Magnetic mount feels weak

Ensure the adhesive ring is centered properly and that the case material is compatible with the magnetic adhesive.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up your SanDisk Phone SSD, first ensure the device is charged or connected via a high-speed USB-C cable to a compatible USB-C port on your phone or computer. If your phone lacks magnetic attachment, clean the back of the device or phone case thoroughly before applying the included adhesive magnetic ring.

Compatibility: The drive works with most USB-C equipped smartphones, tablets, and computers that support external storage protocols.

Care: Keep the USB-C port free of debris to maintain high transfer speeds. Clean the exterior with a dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid leaving the drive in extreme heat for extended periods, even with its rugged build, to maintain the integrity of the adhesive and internal components.
