The Trend Hinge Jig H/JIG/A is designed for joiners and DIY enthusiasts who need to quickly and accurately recess hinges in wooden doors and frames. Its key benefit is significantly reduced setup time compared to traditional methods, leading to increased productivity. A caveat is that it requires a router with specific specifications for optimal use. This guide will help you understand the features, setup, and best practices for using the Trend Hinge Jig.

A light-duty router with a 1/4 inch collet is required. You will also need a long reach router cutter (12mm diameter, 70mm overall length).
The jig is designed for use with square butt hinges.
The jig accommodates doors with heights from 6 ft 5 in (1955 mm) to 6 ft 10 in (2100 mm) and thicknesses from 5/8 inches (16 mm).
A T4EK router may require a UNIBASE or a special guide bush ref. GB/T4/160. Check your router model.
Use the hinge itself as a guide to position the jig accurately on the door and frame before clamping and routing.
Clean the jig after each use, store it in a dry place, and regularly check for damage or wear.
Contact the manufacturer or an authorized dealer for replacement parts.
Adjust the router's depth setting or check the cutter's length.
Ensure the jig is securely clamped and the router is following the guide correctly. Check that the correct cutter is being used.
Tighten the clamps and ensure the jig is flush against the door/frame surface. Check that the angled position slots are preventing creep.
Ensure the router is switched off before starting and that you have a firm grip. Use appropriate speed settings.
