The Deta Fan Isolator Switch is designed for homeowners and electricians looking for a durable, aesthetically pleasing solution for controlling extractor fans. This 10-amp triple pole switch offers a high-end look with its slim profile and curved metal edges, ensuring it complements modern interior designs. While it provides a robust and reliable connection, users should be aware that the metal construction requires careful handling during installation to prevent cosmetic scratching before the protective film is removed.

Yes, it is designed for this specific purpose and features a protective gasket to help mitigate the effects of humidity.
No, it is designed to fit standard UK electrical back boxes, which must be purchased separately if not already present in the wall.
While the metal surface is high-quality, it may show fingerprints over time. A simple wipe with a dry microfiber cloth will restore the finish.
This is a 10-amp switch, which is standard and sufficient for most domestic extractor fan installations.
While it can function as a switch, its primary design and testing are as an isolator for ventilation systems; it is recommended to use it for its intended purpose.
A triple pole switch disconnects the live, neutral, and switched live connections, providing maximum safety during maintenance.
Ensure the switch is not pulled too tightly against an uneven wall surface, which can cause the faceplate to warp slightly.
Verify that all wires are securely fastened to the terminal blocks and that the supply at the fuse board is active.
Ensure the pre-fitted clear gasket is properly seated between the switch and the wall surface to prevent moisture ingress.
Installation should always be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with current IET wiring regulations. Before starting, ensure the mains power is isolated at the consumer unit. The switch fits standard UK back boxes. When installing, leave the protective film in place until all decorating is complete to prevent paint splatter or scratches. To maintain the finish, clean the switch periodically with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive chemical cleaners, as these can strip the protective finish or damage the metal surface.
