Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility Verification: Before installation, it is critical to verify that the NGK 5216 spark plug is the correct part for your specific vehicle. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual or a trusted parts compatibility guide. Always double-check the Part Number (5216) and Cross References (e.g., BOSCH 0242240547, WD ENSO 3329) against your vehicle's requirements.
Installation:
- Ensure the engine is cool.
- Disconnect the spark plug wire or coil pack.
- Use a spark plug socket wrench to carefully remove the old spark plug.
- Inspect the engine's spark plug well for debris.
- Thread the new NGK 5216 spark plug in by hand to avoid cross-threading. It should turn in smoothly.
- Tighten the spark plug to the manufacturer's specified torque using a torque wrench. Over-tightening can damage the cylinder head.
- Reconnect the spark plug wire or coil pack.
Care: Spark plugs are wear items and do not require regular maintenance beyond inspection during scheduled tune-ups. Replace them according to your vehicle manufacturer's recommended service interval to ensure optimal engine performance. Keep the area around the spark plugs clean to prevent debris from falling into the cylinder during removal.
