FAQs

Is the duvet removable?

Yes, the duvet is secured with heavy-duty zips, allowing it to be removed for washing or seasonal storage.

Can I fit my own pillows on this system?

Yes, though the system includes fast-fit elastic toggles specifically designed for Nash branded accessories.

What does the 40mm mattress density mean for comfort?

The 40mm high-density foam provides a firmer, more supportive base that resists sagging over time compared to thinner mattresses.

How many legs does this model have?

This specific HD40 model is equipped with eight legs for maximum stability and weight distribution.

Is this bedchair heavy to carry?

While it features reinforced steel, it is designed for anglers who prioritize long-term durability; transport via barrow is recommended.

Troubleshooting

Leg adjustment mechanism feels stiff

Clear any mud or grit from the spring-loaded housing and apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant if necessary.

Duvet zip snagging

Ensure the anti-snag baffle is held flat while zipping and check that the internal lining hasn't been caught in the zipper teeth.

Bed feels unstable on soft ground

Ensure the mud feet are fully deployed and pressed firmly into the ground to distribute weight evenly across the eight-leg footprint.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptionally comfortable 40mm foam mattress
Reinforced frame prevents bending and improves longevity
Versatile four-season rating suitable for year-round use
Easy adjustment with one-touch leg mechanisms

Cons

Larger profile compared to non-system bedchairs
Weight may be a factor for anglers on long treks to the swim
Requires significant storage space in vehicles

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up the HD40 involves releasing the compression straps and unfolding the frame until the hinge mechanisms lock securely. Ensure all eight legs are extended and adjusted so that the frame is level to prevent uneven stress on the mattress. For maintenance, the nylon materials should be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove mud or debris. While the duvet is attached via zips, it can be removed for cleaning or storage. Always ensure the bed is completely dry before storing it for long periods in a gear bag to prevent mold or fabric degradation. The integrated elastic toggles are designed for Nash-specific pillows and sheets, which are recommended for the best fit.
