The Mac Professional Knife Set is an ideal collection for culinary enthusiasts and professional chefs who prioritize precision, balance, and long-lasting edge retention. Crafted in Japan, these knives provide exceptional versatility for everything from delicate produce preparation to heavy-duty slicing, though users must be prepared to maintain them exclusively through hand washing to preserve their high-performance stainless steel blades.

No, you must hand wash them. Dishwashers can damage the wood handle and blunt the precision-ground edge.
They have a Rockwell hardness rating of approximately 60.
Yes, they are crafted in Japan with many steps performed by skilled craftsmen.
A Japanese water stone is recommended for long-term maintenance, though a high-quality diamond hone works for routine touch-ups.
The dimples create small air pockets that prevent food from sticking to the side of the blade, allowing for faster and smoother chopping.
The handles are made of durable, moisture-resistant black Pakka wood.
Use a honing rod to realign the edge of the blade; if performance does not improve, the blade may require professional sharpening.
Ensure you are using a proper rocking or pushing motion; if the knife is dirty, wipe the blade clean to ensure the dimples are free of debris.
Gently scrub the affected area with a soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner, dry completely, and apply a thin layer of food-grade mineral oil.
To ensure the longevity of your Mac Professional knives, store them in a knife block, on a magnetic strip, or in a protective sheath to prevent edge dulling against other utensils. The Pakka wood handles are durable but should never be soaked in water or exposed to the harsh detergents and high heat of a dishwasher, which can cause the wood to expand or the steel to degrade. Always use wooden or soft plastic cutting boards; avoid glass, ceramic, or stone boards which will instantly dull the high-performance steel. After use, rinse immediately, hand wash with a mild soap, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth before storage.
