Ensure the pins are inserted into the wood at a consistent depth and are making good contact. Avoid testing on the very surface or on very rough, uneven wood. Readings are most accurate when the pins penetrate slightly into the material.
For wood, the meter can read moisture levels up to 44%. For other building materials, the range is 0.2-2%.
The meter can measure moisture in 'other building materials' within the range of 0.2-2%. For materials outside this specific range, the accuracy may be compromised. Consult the product manual for specific material compatibility.
The meter uses 3 x Button Cell batteries, which are supplied with the unit.
