Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Before first use, thoroughly clean the brush to remove any manufacturing residues. Dip the brush into the appropriate solvent (water for latex paints, mineral spirits for oil-based paints) and gently work the bristles. Rinse thoroughly and shake out excess liquid. Allow the brush to air dry completely before use.
Compatibility:
This brush is specifically designed for use with Low VOC and latex paints and primers. Its durable nylon and polyester blend also performs well with a variety of other paint types, including thicker coatings. Always check your paint manufacturer's recommendations for brush compatibility.
Care:
- Cleaning (Latex/Water-Based Paints): After use, immediately rinse the brush with warm water. Use a brush comb or your fingers to work out any remaining paint. Rinse until the water runs clear. Gently reshape the bristles and let the brush air dry, bristles up, to prevent deformation.
- Cleaning (Oil-Based/Alkyd Paints): Use mineral spirits or the manufacturer's recommended solvent to clean the brush. Work the solvent through the bristles, then rinse thoroughly. Once clean, wash with mild soap and water, rinse again, reshape, and air dry as above.
- Storage: Store the brush in its original packaging or a brush guard to protect the bristles. Hang the brush or store it bristles-up in a dry, clean environment. Avoid storing it with the bristles pressed against a surface.
