This versatile gas soldering set, known as the MGS, offers a wide range of applications with its seven interchangeable tips. It operates on butane and is easily refillable from standard lighter fuel cartridges, providing a good working time due to its substantial reservoir. The set features piezo ignition and adjustable controls for the gas/air supply. Users can choose between working with a catalyst unit and a tip or using an open flame. For hard soldering with an open flame, it reaches temperatures of up to 1,300°C, while the soldering tip operates at 500°C. The included tips are designed for various tasks, including wax/varnish scraping for wood repairs, cutting plastics with a hot knife, wood burning pyrography, soldering, hot air work with a round nozzle, and heat-shrinking. The kit also comes complete with solder, a wiping sponge, a spanner, and a stainless steel rest/stand for upright storage.
