The Evolution Aqua Surge Waste Valve Assembly (SURGEWSA) is a vital replacement component specifically designed for owners of the Evolution Aqua Surge Filter with 18w UVC, helping to maintain efficient pond maintenance through seamless waste removal. This genuine spare part is ideal for hobbyists who need to restore the reliable functionality of their filtration system, though it is strictly limited to this specific filter model and requires careful handling during installation to ensure a watertight seal.

No, the SURGEWSA is specifically engineered for the Evolution Aqua Surge Filter with 18w UVC.
As a direct replacement part, it is designed for users familiar with their filter maintenance; no complex tools are required beyond standard hand tools.
It is good practice to check the valve for debris or leaks during your routine filter backwashing sessions.
If you experience minor weeping at the threaded connection, high-quality plumber's tape can be used to ensure a better seal.
Ensure that the filter housing itself is not damaged, as a cracked housing will cause recurring failures regardless of the new valve.
Check that the valve is seated correctly and tighten the connection slightly. Inspect for any debris caught in the seal.
Ensure the valve is free of pond grit or algae. If necessary, flush the assembly with clean water to clear the internal mechanism.
To install the replacement assembly, ensure the pond filter is powered down and the water flow is isolated using stop valves. Carefully remove the old valve assembly, noting the orientation of any existing seals. When installing the new SURGEWSA, ensure all threads are properly aligned before tightening to avoid cross-threading. Do not overtighten, as this may crack the housing. For long-term care, occasionally flush the valve with clean pond water to prevent debris buildup from seizing the mechanical components. This part is exclusively compatible with the Evolution Aqua Surge Filter with 18w UVC.
