Full details

These YouGarden Calista Urn Planters are designed for gardeners looking to add a touch of classic elegance to their patios, doorways, or garden displays without the expense of traditional materials. However, their plastic construction, while advantageous for weight, may not appeal to those seeking the aesthetic of natural materials.

FAQs

What are the dimensions of these urn planters?

Each urn planter measures 32cm (approximately 13 inches) in diameter.

Are these planters suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, they are made from UV and weather-resistant polypropylene, making them ideal for outdoor use year-round.

Do the planters come with drainage holes?

Yes, each planter has drainage holes pre-drilled to ensure proper plant care.

What material are the planters made from?

They are constructed from heavy-duty polypropylene, finished with a hand-applied white paint with an aged effect.

How heavy are the planters?

They are lightweight due to their polypropylene construction, making them easy to move and handle compared to ceramic or metal pots.

Can I use these planters indoors?

Yes, they can be used indoors, but it is recommended to place a saucer or tray underneath to catch any water that drains out.

How should I clean the planters?

You can clean them by wiping with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.

Troubleshooting

Planter appears to be tipping or unstable

Ensure the planter is placed on a level surface. If using on soft ground, consider placing a flat paver underneath for added stability. For very tall or top-heavy plants, you may need to add weight to the bottom of the planter before adding soil.

Water pooling in the planter despite drainage holes

Check that the drainage holes are not obstructed by soil or debris. Gently poke a stick or wire through the holes to clear them. Ensure the base of the planter is not sitting in standing water.

Paint finish seems to be chipping or peeling

While designed to be durable, excessive scraping or harsh cleaning can damage the finish. Clean gently with a soft cloth and mild soap if necessary. Minor chips can often be touched up with suitable outdoor paint.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: These urns are ready for immediate use upon arrival. Simply place them in your desired location, fill with appropriate potting soil, and plant your chosen flowers, shrubs, or houseplants. Ensure the location has adequate sunlight or shade as required by your plants.

Compatibility: The Calista Urns are compatible with all types of potting soil and plant life, from annual bedding to perennial shrubs and indoor foliage plants. They are suitable for use on patios, balconies, decking, and directly in garden beds. They can also be used indoors, provided adequate drainage is managed (e.g., by placing a saucer underneath).

Care: To maintain the appearance of the planters, wipe them clean periodically with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the painted finish. Due to their UV-stable material, they are resistant to fading from sun exposure. For long-term storage during harsh winter months, they can be emptied and stored in a dry place, though this is not strictly necessary due to their weather-resistant design.
