Product Information

Full details

The JCB 115mm Segmented Diamond Blade is a high-performance cutting accessory designed for professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts who require clean, efficient cuts in masonry and building materials. Engineered for heavy-duty use with standard angle grinders, it provides exceptional precision on materials like paving bricks, roof tiles, and hard sandstone. While it excels in speed and durability, users should note that the segmented design is optimized for aggressive cutting rather than smooth, fine-finish tile work, which may cause slight chipping on brittle surfaces.

FAQs

Can I use this blade to cut metal?

No. This is a diamond-segmented blade specifically designed for masonry and building materials like brick, stone, and tile. It will not cut metal efficiently and may become damaged.

What is the maximum speed for this blade?

The blade is rated for a maximum speed of 13,300 RPM.

Does this blade require water cooling?

This blade can be used for both dry and wet cutting; however, it is designed primarily for dry use in general construction site applications.

Will this fit my 125mm angle grinder?

While the 22.23mm bore may fit, using a 115mm blade on a 125mm grinder is generally discouraged unless the grinder settings specifically allow for the smaller size, as the guard may not provide adequate protection.

How do I know when the blade needs replacing?

Replace the blade when the segments are worn down to less than 2mm or if the metal core shows visible signs of cracking or warping.

Troubleshooting

Blade feels like it is 'glazing' or not cutting effectively

The diamond grit may be clogged. Make a few shallow cuts into an abrasive material like a concrete block to expose fresh diamond edges.

Excessive vibration during operation

Ensure the blade is centered correctly on the spindle and the locking nut is tightened securely. Check for any damage or missing segments on the rim.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High rotational speed capacity of 13,300 RPM
Universal fit for most standard 115mm angle grinders
Durable construction suitable for abrasive materials
Efficient cutting performance on dense building stones

Cons

Segmented edge may cause chipping on highly decorative tiles
Not intended for metal or wood cutting applications
Requires proper PPE due to significant dust production

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation requires removing the grinder's locking nut and backing flange, seating the 22.23mm bore blade securely, and tightening the nut firmly. Always ensure the machine is disconnected from power before changing the blade.

To ensure longevity and safety:

Inspection: Check the blade for cracks or missing segments before every use.
Storage: Keep in a dry, dust-free environment to prevent corrosion of the metal core.
Compatibility: Only use this blade on 115mm angle grinders rated for at least 13,300 RPM. Never attempt to use a 115mm blade on a grinder designed for a larger disc size.
