Setup, Compatibility & Care
These tools do not require assembly. To ensure longevity, follow these care guidelines:
- Cleaning: Always wipe down the tools with a clean rag after use to remove metal shavings and oils.
- Storage: Store in a dry, low-humidity environment. If the shop is damp, apply a light coat of machine oil to the shafts to protect against oxidation.
- Maintenance: Periodically dress the striking ends of the punches and chisels with a file to remove any 'mushrooming' caused by repeated hammer strikes. This keeps the tools safe and prevents shards of metal from breaking off.
- Compatibility: These tools are compatible with standard ball-peen, cross-peen, and dead-blow hammers.
