Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the surface you intend to mount the vice on is clean, dry, and completely smooth.
- Place the vice onto the desired location.
- Engage the lockable lever on the vacuum base to create a strong suction.
- Test the stability by gently attempting to move the vice.
- Position your workpiece in the jaws.
- Tighten the main vice handle to secure the workpiece.
- Use the ball joint lever to adjust the angle and lock it in place.
Compatibility:
This vice is designed to mount on any non-porous, smooth, flat surface. Examples include glass, polished metal, sealed laminate, or smooth plastic. It is not suitable for painted, textured, rough, or porous surfaces like unfinished wood, concrete, or fabric.
Care:
- Clean the vacuum base pad and the mounting surface regularly to maintain optimal suction.
- Wipe the vice down with a slightly damp cloth after use to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Store in a dry place when not in use. Ensure the jaws are clean and free from debris.
- Periodically check the rubber jaw inserts for wear and replace if necessary.
