The Virtual Plastics Window Sill Capping Board is designed for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts looking to revitalize worn or dated internal window sills without the labor and cost of full replacement. This durable, maintenance-free uPVC solution offers an immediate, clean finish that resists moisture and dampness, making it an excellent choice for bathrooms or kitchens. While it provides a robust, professional look, users should note that it is intended for capping existing structures and requires precise measuring and cutting to ensure a seamless fit against the original sill profile.

While made of exterior-grade uPVC, these are intended for internal window sills; check local building requirements for specific outdoor exposure.
No, a standard fine-tooth saw for cutting and a standard caulking gun for the adhesive are sufficient.
These boards are designed with a smooth white finish that does not require painting, though some specialized plastics paints may adhere if strictly necessary.
You can join multiple boards together; for the best result, ensure the joint is perfectly straight and use a matching uPVC joint strip or sealant.
The board is rigid to provide a flat, professional finish. If your current sill is very uneven, you may need to level it or use a thicker adhesive layer.
Use a fine-tooth saw or a jigsaw to trim the width of the board to match the depth of your window sill.
Ensure the underlying surface is completely free of dust, grease, and moisture before application. Use a high-tack construction adhesive.
Apply a thin bead of white frame sealant or silicone to bridge the gap and provide a weather-tight, professional finish.
To install, ensure the existing window sill is clean, dry, and structurally sound. Measure the width and length of your sill carefully before cutting the capping board to size. Secure the board using a high-quality adhesive such as 'no nails' or a similar contact adhesive designed for uPVC. For a professional look, apply a small bead of silicone sealant along the edges where the board meets the window frame. Care is minimal: simply wipe the surface with a soft cloth and mild soapy water as needed to keep it looking brand new.
