Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your SanDisk Professional G-RAID MIRROR, follow these guidelines.
Setup:
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the G-RAID MIRROR from its packaging. Ensure all components, including the power adapter and data cables, are present.
- Placement: Position the drive on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the G-RAID MIRROR's power input, then into a wall outlet or surge protector.
- Connect Data Cable: Use the appropriate data cable (e.g., Thunderbolt, USB-C) to connect the G-RAID MIRROR to your computer.
- Power On: Press the power button on the G-RAID MIRROR.
- Initialization: Your computer should detect the drive. For first-time use, you may need to format the drive for your operating system (e.g., APFS for macOS, NTFS for Windows) if it's not pre-formatted to your preference. *Warning: Formatting will erase all existing data on the drive. Ensure no critical data is present before formatting.*
Compatibility:
- Operating Systems: The G-RAID MIRROR is generally compatible with major operating systems like macOS and Windows. Ensure your OS is up to date for the best experience.
- Ports: Connect via high-speed interfaces like Thunderbolt or USB-C (check specific model for exact ports) for optimal data transfer rates.
Care:
- Environment: Operate the drive within recommended temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid extreme conditions.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure the vents are not obstructed to prevent overheating.
- Safe Ejection: Always safely eject the drive from your operating system before disconnecting the data cable or power to prevent data corruption.
