Expand your ExpressCard-enabled laptop with two flush-mount USB 3.0 ports using the StarTech.com ECUSB3S254F adapter. This unique design allows it to sit flush in a standard 54mm ExpressCard slot, creating a seamless, permanent addition without risk of damage. Enhanced with UASP support, it offers up to 70% faster data transfer speeds than conventional USB 3.0 when paired with a UASP-enabled enclosure and compatible operating system. The adapter supports SuperSpeed USB 3.0 data transfer rates of up to 5Gbps and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 (up to 480Mbps) and USB 1.1/1.0 (up to 12/1.5 Mbps). UASP is supported in Windows 8, Server 2012, and Linux kernel 2.6.3 or later. Testing showed up to 70% faster read and 40% faster write speeds, along with an 80% reduction in processor resources compared to traditional USB 3.0.
