It includes a convenient Test/Hush button; pressing it briefly verifies the alarm's functionality, while holding it for five seconds silences a false alarm. The unit is powered by a replaceable 9V battery with a 5-year lifespan. When the battery is low, the device will chirp, and a red LED will flash every 32 seconds, indicating the need for replacement. Installation is simplified with a removable base plate and included screws for ceiling mounting. The alarm attaches to the base plate by pushing and twisting it clockwise.
