Product Information

Full details

The Sloomy Luthor Plush Divan Set in Double size and Silver is designed for those seeking a blend of modern aesthetics and reliable support. Its key benefit is the platform-top construction offering even weight distribution and a stable foundation for any mattress. A potential caveat is the single-sided mattress, requiring rotation rather than turning for optimal maintenance. This set features a handcrafted UK frame, a luxurious 54" Chesterfield headboard with winged sides, and a medium-comfort mattress.

FAQs

What is the primary benefit of the platform-top construction?

The platform-top construction provides a solid, even surface that offers consistent support across the entire mattress, preventing dips and enhancing mattress longevity.

Is the mattress double-sided?

No, the included mattress is single-sided, meaning it is designed to be used on one side only. It requires regular rotation (head to toe) rather than turning over.

What are the dimensions of the headboard?

The headboard is a 54-inch standard height, featuring a Chesterfield design with deep buttoning and winged sides.

What types of fabric are available for the Luthor set?

The Luthor set is available in Sloomy's fabric collections: Plush Velvet, Naples, Coniston, and Dumfries.

How do I clean the upholstery?

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For spills, blot immediately with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals. Specific fabric care guides should be consulted for optimal results.

What is the warranty period for this divan set?

The set comes with a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Are the chrome gliders designed for carpet or hard floors?

The chrome gliders are designed to protect all floor types, including hard floors, and facilitate easy movement of the bed.

Troubleshooting

Bed creaks or makes noise

Ensure all bolts and fixings on the divan base and headboard are securely tightened. Check that the bed is on a level surface.

Mattress feels uneven

Rotate the mattress head to toe. Ensure the mattress is correctly positioned on the platform top and has not shifted.

Headboard is wobbly

Check the bolts connecting the headboard to the divan base. Ensure they are fully tightened and that any included wall fixings (if used) are secure.

Difficulty moving the bed

Ensure the chrome gliders are clean and free from debris. Lift one side of the bed slightly to reposition rather than dragging.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Provides a stable and even sleeping surface.
  • Luxurious and eye-catching headboard design.
  • Durable construction with UK craftsmanship.
  • Easy to move with floor-protecting gliders.
  • Versatile fabric options to suit various decors.

Cons

  • Mattress is single-sided and requires rotation.
  • Occasional use mattress may not be suitable for heavy daily use.
  • Specific fabric care instructions may be required depending on the chosen material.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Unpack all components and verify against the packing list.
  2. Assemble the divan base according to the provided instructions, ensuring all fixings are secure.
  3. Attach the headboard to the base using the provided fittings.
  4. Place the mattress onto the platform top, ensuring it sits flush.

Compatibility:

  • The platform-top base is designed to work with most standard double mattresses. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use the included mattress or one of similar construction.
  • Ensure the headboard fixings are compatible with your wall type if you choose to wall-mount it separately (not typically required for divan sets).

Care:

  • Frame & Upholstery: Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For spills on fabric, blot immediately with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Refer to specific fabric care guides for Plush Velvet, Naples, Coniston, and Dumfries.
  • Mattress: As the mattress is single-sided, it requires rotation (not turning) regularly to ensure even wear. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for rotation frequency. Use a mattress protector to guard against stains and wear.
