Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Placement: Place the freezer on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and damp environments. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation.
- Connection: Plug the freezer into a grounded electrical outlet. Avoid using extension cords.
- Temperature Setting: Set the thermostat to the recommended temperature for food preservation (usually around -18°C or 0°F). Allow the freezer to cool completely before adding food.
Compatibility
The Haier Chest Freezer is compatible with standard household electrical systems (220-240V). It is designed for freestanding use only. It is not suitable for built-in installation.
Care
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the interior with a solution of baking soda and warm water. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Defrosting: Defrost the freezer when ice build-up becomes excessive (about every 6-12 months), following the manufacturer's instructions. Turn off the freezer and remove all food items before defrosting.
- Maintenance: Check the door seal regularly to ensure it is airtight. Replace the seal if it is damaged.
- Ventilation: Keep the ventilation openings clear to ensure proper airflow and cooling efficiency.
