Arranwood Hardwood Faced Plywood - 12mm

This plywood is primarily designed for interior use. While it has WBP grading for moisture resistance, any exterior exposure, even occasional, requires thorough treatment and sealing of all surfaces and edges with an appropriate exterior-grade wood preservative or sealant.

B/BB grading indicates a high-quality surface. The 'B' face has a smooth, sanded veneer suitable for painting or varnishing, while the 'BB' reverse may have some minor imperfections like wood patches or knots but is still a good utility surface.

This is a non-structural plywood. It is excellent for applications like panelling, shelving, shed construction, and flooring underlayment, but it is not designed or rated for load-bearing structural elements in construction.

For general cleaning, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water. Avoid soaking the material. If a finish like paint or varnish has been applied, clean according to the manufacturer's recommendations for that finish.

The plywood complies with European 'E1' low emission standards, meaning it has low formaldehyde content, contributing to better indoor air quality.

Use sharp woodworking tools. A circular saw or table saw with a fine-toothed blade (e.g., 60-80 teeth) is recommended for clean cuts. Support the panel properly during cutting and consider using masking tape along the cut line to minimize veneer tear-out.

WBP stands for Weather and Boil Proof. This grading signifies that the glue used to bond the layers is highly resistant to moisture and heat, ensuring the plywood will not delaminate even when subjected to prolonged exposure to water or high temperatures.

Ensure your saw blade is sharp and clean. Use a fine-toothed blade designed for cutting plywood. For very clean cuts, consider scoring the veneer with a utility knife before sawing.

Ensure the surface is clean and free from dust or debris before applying any finish. Sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 220 grit) between coats if recommended by your finishing product's instructions. Make sure all edges are sealed, as they can absorb finish differently.

This indicates inadequate sealing, especially on edges. Re-apply a comprehensive wood sealant or treatment to all surfaces and edges, paying particular attention to any exposed core layers or cut ends.

Ensure you are using appropriate fasteners for plywood. Pre-drill pilot holes slightly smaller than the screw diameter. For structural integrity, consider using wood glue in conjunction with fasteners, especially when joining panels.
