The Marshalltown Tile Nippers are essential tools for professional tilers and DIY enthusiasts who need to make precise cuts, remove small fragments, or create irregular shapes in ceramic and porcelain tile. These nippers feature a durable cast steel construction and hardened carbide tips for long-lasting performance, though users should note that they are designed for shaping rather than long, straight snap-cuts. With an ergonomic design and soft grip handles, this 0.91-pound tool is built to minimize fatigue during repetitive tiling tasks.

Yes, the carbide tips are durable enough to effectively nip ceramic and most standard porcelain tiles.
No, these are designed for nipping, shaping, and irregular edges. A manual or electric tile saw is recommended for long, straight cuts.
While the carbide is very durable, it is not designed for routine sharpening by the user. Maintaining cleanliness helps keep them effective for longer.
The Marshalltown Tile Nippers weigh 0.91 pounds.
They work on softer natural stones, but results may vary depending on the hardness and thickness of the specific stone.
Clear any ceramic dust from the pivot joint and apply a drop of lightweight machine oil.
Ensure the carbide tips are free of build-up and that you are positioning the nippers correctly at the very edge of the tile.
Take smaller bites of the tile rather than trying to remove large chunks at once.
No complex setup is required for the Marshalltown Tile Nippers; they are ready to use out of the box. To maintain the tool, keep the pivot point clean and lightly lubricated with machine oil to ensure the jaws open and close smoothly. After each use, wipe down the carbide tips with a dry cloth to remove ceramic dust or debris. Store the tool in a dry environment to prevent rust on the steel body, and ensure the jaws remain closed or protected when stored in a toolbox to preserve the sharpness of the carbide edges.
