Step behind the scenes of the beloved BBC series Call the Midwife with this exclusive tour for two at the Historic Dockyard Chatham. Guided by your very own ‘midwife,’ you’ll explore the area’s rich 400-year history and discover how the dockyard was transformed into 1950s London Poplar Dock for the show. Visit filming locations aboard HMS Cavalier and uncover behind-the-scenes stories, all while enjoying access to the dockyard's fascinating exhibitions, including the Command of the Oceans, Victorian Ropery, and three historic warships. The tour is a gently-paced walking tour that will last about 1 hour 30 minutes. After the tour, you’ll have even more time to wander the dockyard, with 10 superb galleries and three historic warships to explore, each showcasing a different aspect of Royal Navy life and history. The Dockyard visit can last a whole day. Tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:00 and 14:00 from March to November, and on Thursdays and Fridays at 13:00 from March to October. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early at the tour meeting point, situated at the Memorial between HMS Cavalier and HMS Ocelot. You’ll check in at the main visitor’s entrance at the ticket desk to exchange your vouchers for tickets. Minimum age is 16. Vouchers are typically valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please check the season of any intended experience, as this may be shorter than the Voucher validity. You must book and complete your experience prior to the expiry date, and booking lead times apply.
