The Shires Loose Ring Copper Lozenge Snaffle Bit features loose rings designed to discourage the horse from leaning on the bit. The lozenge mouthpiece softens contact and the copper composition encourages mouthing. Bits with a lozenge are beneficial for horses with larger tongues or smaller mouths as the double joint reduces the 'nutcracker' action of a single-jointed bit, creating more space in the mouth for the tongue. This double joint is often favored by horses due to its comfort and reduced palate pressure. The lozenge snaffle offers a slightly more positive action on the tongue compared to a French link due to its smooth central lozenge. Mouthpiece thickness: 16mm. Cheek height: 65mm.
