Setup, Compatibility & Care
To prepare the banneton for its first use, ensure it is clean and lightly dusted with flour. When using it for proofing, always place a lint-free cloth or a thin dusting of flour over the interior. After every use, gently tap the basket to remove loose flour and use a soft-bristled brush to clear out any remaining dried dough or flour trapped in the ridges. If deep cleaning is necessary, rinse with cold water only and ensure the basket is completely air-dried in a warm, well-ventilated area before storing to prevent any moisture buildup. Do not submerge or use soaps, as this can degrade the material and impact the dough release.
