FAQs

Can I use this paint on exterior metal?

Yes, the paint is weather-resistant and specifically designed for use on both wood and metal surfaces, including outdoor applications.

Is this paint water-based or solvent-based?

This formula is a high-build, hard-drying topcoat; please check the product label or tin for specific cleanup solvent requirements, typically involving white spirit for brush cleaning.

How much area does a 300ml tin cover?

Coverage depends on the porosity of the surface, but a 300ml tin is intended for small-to-medium projects such as furniture pieces or railings.

Do I need a primer?

While the paint has excellent adhesion properties, using a primer on bare metal or highly porous wood can improve the longevity and finish of the topcoat.

Can this be used on concrete?

Yes, this paint is suitable for use on concrete surfaces, provided the surface is clean, dry, and free of loose material.

Troubleshooting

Paint appears thick or clumpy

Stir the paint vigorously for 1-2 minutes until it reaches a smooth, consistent texture.

Paint not adhering to surface

Ensure the surface was thoroughly cleaned and degreased. If the surface is extremely glossy, use fine-grit sandpaper to lightly abrade it before reapplying.

Slow drying time

High humidity or cold temperatures can extend drying times. Ensure the area is well-ventilated and avoid painting if the ambient temperature is below 10°C.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Resists dripping during application for a cleaner workspace
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments
Excellent coverage on wood, metal, and concrete
Includes a convenient brush for immediate use
Provides a durable and smooth matt finish

Cons

Small 300ml tin size limits use to smaller projects
Specific to a matt finish (not suitable for gloss requirements)
Drying times may vary based on environmental humidity

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before starting, ensure the surface is dry, stable, and free from loose debris, oil, or wax. Sanding glossy surfaces slightly can improve the adhesion of the paint.

Application Tips:

Stir the paint thoroughly before use to ensure the pigment is evenly distributed.
Use the provided 1-inch brush for edges, corners, and detailed areas.
Allow sufficient drying time between coats to prevent trapping moisture.

Care: Store the tin in a cool, dry place with the lid securely fastened. If you plan to store the brush, clean it immediately after use with appropriate brush cleaner or white spirit to ensure it remains in good condition for future projects.
