Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: To use these rivets, you will need a standard rivet gun. Ensure the rivet gun is set up correctly according to its manual. Select a drill bit size that matches the nominal diameter of the rivet body (4.0mm). Drill clean holes through the materials you wish to join. Insert the rivet through the aligned holes. Place the rivet stem into the rivet gun's mandrel. Squeeze the trigger of the rivet gun repeatedly until the stem breaks off, securing the materials.
Compatibility: These 4.0mm rivets are designed to work with standard 4.0mm rivet guns. The multigrip feature allows them to fasten materials with a combined thickness ranging typically from 9mm to 16mm, though actual performance can vary based on material type and hole quality. They are suitable for joining a wide range of materials including sheet metal, plastic, and some composites.
Care: As these rivets are made of Aluminium and Steel, they offer good corrosion resistance. For prolonged outdoor exposure or harsh environments, consider applying a sealant around the rivet head and tail to further protect the joint from moisture. Store unused rivets in a dry place to prevent premature corrosion or damage.
