Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
- Unpack all components and refer to the provided manual for assembly.
- Assemble the steel frame and connect the panels according to the instructions.
- Ensure all connections are secure for maximum stability.
- Place the assembled raised bed in its desired location before filling with soil.
Compatibility:
This raised bed is compatible with most standard garden soils, composts, and amendments. It is suitable for direct planting.
Care:
- Initial Rust Development: The product arrives in its natural metal state. To accelerate the rusting process and achieve the characteristic Corten steel appearance, you can spray the exterior with a solution of salt water and a small amount of dish soap. Allow the solution to work and rinse periodically. This process can take several weeks.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the developing patina.
- Rust Stains: Be cautious of staining on clothing or surrounding surfaces during the initial rust development. Protect adjacent areas if necessary.
- Longevity: Corten steel is designed for longevity and requires no protective coatings or painting. Its natural weathering process protects it from further corrosion.
