FAQs

How often should I defrost the freezer?

Thanks to SmartFrost technology, defrosting is less frequent. However, inspect the freezer periodically and defrost when ice build-up becomes excessive (more than 0.5 cm).

How do I clean the fridge interior?

Use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a little baking soda. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

What should I do if the door seals are damaged?

Damaged door seals can reduce efficiency. Contact Liebherr customer service to arrange for replacement seals.

Can I store hot food directly in the fridge?

No, let hot food cool down to room temperature before placing it in the fridge to prevent raising the internal temperature and affecting other items.

What is the purpose of the bottle rack?

The bottle rack provides a dedicated space for storing bottles, keeping them organized and preventing them from rolling around.

How do I change the door hinge?

The door hinge is reversible. Follow the instructions in the user manual to change the door hinge.

What is VarioSpace?

VarioSpace is a feature in the freezer that allows you to remove drawers and shelves to create extra space for larger frozen items.

Troubleshooting

Fridge/Freezer not cooling.

Check the power supply, ensure the appliance is plugged in and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Check the temperature settings are correctly set.

Excessive ice build-up in the freezer.

Ensure the door seals properly, preventing warm air from entering. Check to see if there is a need for manual defrosting (though SmartFrost reduces the frequency).

Fridge making unusual noises.

Check if the appliance is level. Some noises are normal but excessive or unusual sounds may indicate a problem with the compressor or fan.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • SmartFrost technology for faster freezing and reduced ice build-up.
  • VarioSpace provides flexible storage options.
  • The bottle rack offers convenient beverage storage.
  • Transparent vegetable bins allow for organized storage.

Cons

  • Requires manual defrosting, although less frequently due to SmartFrost.
  • Energy efficiency class is E, which may have higher energy consumption compared to more modern models.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

  1. Placement: Place the fridge freezer on a level surface with adequate ventilation around the back and sides.
  2. Power: Plug the appliance into a grounded power outlet. The voltage should match the specifications on the appliance's rating plate.
  3. Initial Setup: Allow the fridge freezer to run for a few hours before loading food. This allows the internal temperature to stabilize.
  4. Cleaning: Clean the interior with a soft cloth and a solution of lukewarm water and baking soda. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
  5. Defrosting (If Required): Although SmartFrost minimizes ice build-up, you may still need to defrost the freezer manually occasionally. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions.
  6. Reversible Door: The door hinges are reversible. Please follow the instructions in the user manual to change the door hinge.
