It features a 26.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, incredible ISO up to 102400, 4K video, faster processing and new levels of image stabilisation. The EOS RP is a lighter version of the Canon EOS R weighing in at just 485g.
Full frame sensor
The younger sibling of the Canon EOS R, the Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera is small and light, so it's perfect for travelling and shooting out in the field. And you still get all the benefits of the EOS R System - a full frame sensor in a mirrorless body - so you don't have to compromise on image quality. Shoot with confidence even on overcast days and at night with the 26.2 megapixel full frame sensor, which captures sharp and rich images. Coupled with a maximum ISO of 40,000, you can shoot in low light without flash and still achieve photos with brilliant details and colour.
All the settings you need are right where you'd naturally hold the camera, with a control ring on the lens and customisable dials on the body, making it quick and easy to get the perfect exposure.
Works with your current kit
Canon's innovative RF mount uses a strong 12-pin connection for improved communication between the body and lens. It's also wider than Canon's other mounts, bringing the lens closer to the sensor and allowing RF lenses to be faster, brighter, and higher quality.
But that doesn't mean your current kit is redundant - you can still use all your current EF and EF-S lenses with Canon's mount adapter (sold separately).
Versatile lens
When you're shooting weddings, portraits, landscapes or travel, you want a lens that does it all. The zoom range on the Canon RF 24-105 mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens gives you plenty to work with without the need to frequently switch lenses. The built-in optical stabiliser keeps your images and movies nice and steady. The STM motor keeps it quiet while focusing, which makes it ideal for shooting videos.
Responsive control
The EOS RP is super responsive, quickly processing files and offering up to 5 fps burst shooting, all thanks to Canon's latest imaging engine, the DIGIC 8. It also lets you correct unwanted optical aberrations automatically in-camera, so you're ready to wirelessly transfer your images and quickly share previews with clients or update your social feed.
Smooth focus tracking
Dual Pixel CMOS AF is here to revolutionise the way you shoot movies and images. Keep moving subjects smoothly in focus as you track them, and quickly switch focus on the responsive touchscreen, even in low light. With over 5000 AF positions, you're in complete control - make sure the eyes of your portrait subject are sharp, or focus precisely on the wheels of a skateboard while filming some tricks.
