The Guardian Aluminium External Corner Trim is designed for DIY enthusiasts and professionals seeking a polished, watertight transition where two 10mm wall panels meet at a 90-degree corner. It is the perfect solution for achieving a professional, clean finish in wet zones like bathrooms, kitchens, and shower enclosures, though users should note it is specifically engineered for 10mm panels and may not fit thinner or thicker wall board variations.

While the aluminium is corrosion-resistant, it is intended for interior use in kitchens and bathrooms. Exposure to constant UV light and extreme outdoor elements is not recommended.
A standard hacksaw with a fine-tooth blade and a metal file to deburr the cut edges is sufficient for installation.
The silver finish is durable but can be scratched by abrasive materials. Always use a soft cloth for cleaning.
The trim comes in a finished silver state. While it can technically be painted, it is designed for its specific aesthetic and painting may affect the longevity of the finish.
You will need to join two pieces. For the best look, ensure the join is level and seal it with a matching silicone to minimize the visibility of the seam.
Verify that your panels are exactly 10mm thick. If panels are thinner, apply a thin bead of high-quality silicone inside the trim channel to create a secure bond.
Check if your wall corner is perfectly square (90 degrees). If the wall is bowed or out-of-square, you may need to scribe the panel edge to better accommodate the trim profile.
To install, measure the height of your wall area and cut the trim using a fine-tooth hacksaw or miter saw to ensure a clean edge. Ensure the panels are cut accurately; the trim is intended to slide over the edge of the 10mm board. For maintenance, the aluminium finish is low-effort; simply wipe down with a soft, damp cloth and a mild non-abrasive household cleaner. Avoid using harsh scouring pads or acidic chemical cleaners, as these may scratch or dull the silver surface over time.
