Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Setting the Time: Gently pull the crown out to the furthest position. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Push the crown back in fully to start the watch.
- Setting the Date (if applicable): If your model includes a date function, pull the crown out to the first position. Rotate the crown to adjust the date. Push the crown back in fully. *Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM to prevent damaging the movement.*
- Chronograph Operation: Familiarize yourself with the top and bottom pushers for starting, stopping, and resetting the chronograph as described in the 'Performance & Real-World Use' section.
Compatibility
The Boss Allure Chronograph is a standalone timepiece and does not require compatibility with other devices. It is designed to be worn on the wrist.
Product Care
- Cleaning: Wipe your watch regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove dirt, sweat, and oils. For more persistent dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used on the case and bracelet (if metal), ensuring it's dried thoroughly afterward. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Water Resistance: While resistant to 50m, always ensure the crown is pushed in completely. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, hot water, or steam. If your watch gets wet, dry it gently with a soft cloth.
- Battery Replacement: The quartz movement is powered by a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand starts skipping (a common low-battery indicator for some quartz watches), have the battery replaced by a qualified watchmaker or authorized service center to ensure proper sealing and battery type.
- Storage: When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields, which can affect its accuracy.
