Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Daler Rowney System3 brush, follow these care guidelines:
- Pre-Painting: Before using the brush with acrylics, ensure the bristles are slightly damp but not soaking, which prevents the paint from drying into the ferrule.
- Cleaning (Acrylics): Rinse immediately after use with cool, soapy water. Avoid letting acrylic paint dry in the bristles, as it can harden and permanently damage the synthetic fibers.
- Cleaning (Oils): Use a suitable brush cleaner or mineral spirits, followed by a thorough wash with mild soap and water.
- Storage: Always reshape the bristles by hand while damp and store the brush flat or hanging vertically with the bristles pointing down. Avoid leaving the brush resting on its bristles in a jar, as this will cause the head to deform over time.
