Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
To use these rivets, you will need a standard manual or pneumatic riveting tool. Insert the rivet stem into the jaws of the riveting tool. Position the rivet through the pre-drilled holes in the materials you wish to join. Squeeze the handles of the riveting tool (or activate the pneumatic tool) to pull the rivet's mandrel. This action expands the rivet body on the blind side, creating a permanent, secure joint and breaking off the mandrel.
Compatibility:
These rivets are designed for use with materials that can accommodate a 6.4mm diameter hole. They are most effective when joining two or more pieces of metal, but can also be used for wood-to-metal applications or plastics where sufficient strength is required. Ensure the total thickness of the materials to be joined is within the effective grip range of the 20mm rivet length (typically slightly less than 20mm to allow for proper setting).
Care:
While steel offers good durability, prolonged exposure to moisture and corrosive elements can lead to rust. For applications in harsh environments, consider using a sealant or coating over the rivet head and body after installation. Store unused rivets in a dry place to prevent premature corrosion.
